Zach Weiss paced Wissahickon with a 39. Wissahickon evened its overall record to 4-4 and 4-2 in conference play.

Wissahickon 219, Springfield 227 -- Wissahickon improved its American Conference record to 3-2 with a 219-227 road victory over Springfield at Sandy Run Country Club last Tuesday. On a tough scoring day for both squads, Wissahickon freshman Jesse Hunsicker’s 40 was three shots lower than the field’s second place finisher, teammate Zach Weiss, who posted a 43. Senior Ryan Levins holed out a wedge shot on his final hole to shoot 44, which lead a tightly grouped scoring effort turned in by Springfield.

Abington 3, Upper Dublin 1 – Abington beat Upper Dublin last Wednesday 3-1 behind two early first half goals by Ian MacMillan in the ninth minute and Ryan VanDorick in the 12 minute. Dan Lomady scored for the Ghosts in the second half, while Upper Dublin’s Ian Smith saved the Cardinals from being shutout with a goal in the 78th minute. Abington goalkeeper Sam Matthews made six saves to earn the win, while Alex Stine took the loss for Upper Dublin while making seven saves.
Pennington 7, Academy New Church 1—Academy New Church (0-1) fell to Pennington last Thursday 7-1. Blake McCurdy scored late in the second half for the Lions for ANC’s loan goal. ANC goalkeeper Kellen Ayers made 10 saves in the losing effort.

Germantown Academy 4, Germantown Friends 0 –Kacie Kergides finished with two goals and one assist to help lead Germantown Academy to a 4-0 win over Germantown Friends on Tuesday. Andi Stampone and Fran Sweeney added goals for GA, while goalkeeper Natalie Toner made four saves for the Lady Patriots.
Gwnyedd Mercy Academy 2, Merion Mercy Academy 0 – Gwynedd Mercy Academy (2-0 overall) opened its league play by traveling to Merion Mercy last Wednesday and coming out with a 2-0 win. The first goal was scored by senior captain Emily Irons off an assist from Samantha Eddy at the 3:54 mark. In the second half, junior Brianne Lazevnick scored off an assist from senior Brianna Walsh in the 74th minute. Alyssa D’Alonzo won her first start in goal after recording nine Merion Mercy shots to record the shutout.
Phil-Mont Christian 7, Girard 0 – Phil-Mont Christian won 7-0 over Girard on Tuesday thanks to three goals from Soraya Toppin. Sarah Aster and Emily Steiger also scored for PMC, while Madeline Romig scored twice. PMC goalkeeper Katie Siebert made five saves to get the win.

Hatboro-Horsham 3, Villa Joseph Maria 1 – Hatboro Horsham won over Villa Maria in 4 sets (29-27, 25-16, 25-16, 25-16) last Friday, improving the Lady Hatters record to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the American League. Julie Harvey had 15 kills, five blocks and 12 digs for Hatboro-Horsham, while Ashley Morgan had 10 kills and 14 digs. Lauren Schmickle added nine digs and 35 assists.

St. Pius X 3, Gwynedd Mercy Academy 0 – Gwynedd Mercy Academy lost to St. Pius X 3-0 last Wednesday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-22 and 26-24. GMA dropped to 0-1 overall on the young season.
Upper Dublin 3, Cheltenham 0 – Upper Dublin’s Leah Ellert had 10 kills, four aces, two blocks and one dig in a 3-0 win over Cheltenham last Thursday. The set scores were 25-12, 25-18 and 25-10. Upper Dublin’s Taylor Kahny had four kills, eight aces and 10 digs, while Meghan Kane had one kill, two aces, one assist and 12 digs. The Lady Cardinals improved to 1-1 in the league and 1-2 overall.
Gwynedd Mercy Academy 3, St. Basil Academy 2 –Gwynedd Mercy Academy (1-1, 1-0) beat St. Basil 3-2 last Thursday. The set scores were 25-18 GMA, 25-19 and 25-15 St. Basil and 25-16 and 15-7 GMA to close out and win the match. Diana Kirk led GMA with 12 kills and Ericha Lutter had nine. Dominique Marques had 18 assists and four aces, while Jamie Morgan had 14 digs.
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Wissahickon 0 – Hatboro Horsham (2-0, 2-0) won over Wissahickon in three sets (25--7, 25--7, 25--10) last Thursday. Lizzie Myers had three solo blocks for the Lady Hatters, while Kristy Riley had six aces and Kathryn Lucca had five kills.
Upper Merion 3, Hatboro-Horsham 2 – Upper Merion won over Hatboro-Horsham in five sets on Monday (27-29, 25-19, 25-17, 21-25, 15-10) to drop the Lady Hatters’ record to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in league player. Key players for the Hatters were Carly Black (nine kills, nine digs), Julie Harvey (12 kills, five blocks), Ashley Morgan (eight kills, 10 digs) and Lauren Schmickle (38 assists).

Upper Moreland 2, Norristown – Upper Moreland’s Tricia Connolly scored twice to lead the Lady Bears to a 2-1 win over Norristown on Tuesday. Saige Wenik made four saves in net for Upper Moreland (1-2, 1-0) to get the win.
Upper Dublin 7, Cheltenham 0 – Upper Dublin beat Cheltenham 7-0 on Tuesday behind two goals each from Jordan O’Reilly, Emily Hitchings and Amy McCaffrey. Marisa Ferguson also scored for the Lady Cardinals.
Archbishop Carroll 5, Germantown Academy 1 – Amy Jeckovich scored Germantown Academy’s only goal in a 5-1 loss to Archbishop Carroll on Tuesday. Carly Hillman made 18 saves for GA in the losing effort. GA’s record drops to 1-1.
Archbishop Wood 3, Lansdale Catholic 1 – Meghan Leahy, Gina Francescangeli and Alyssa Andress scored for Archbishop Wood, who beat Lansdale Catholic 3-1 last Wednesday. Wood outshot LC 16-13. Vikings’ goalie Sara Bauer made 15 saves to earn the win.
Sacred Heart 1, Gwynedd Mercy Academy 0 – Sacred Heart’s Kerri Crumlish scored with 20:29 remaining in the first half to top Gwynedd Mercy Academy 1-0 last Wednesday. GMA outshot Sacred Heart 8-7, while Sacred Heart had 10 penalty corners to only five for GMA. GMA goalie Alex Nolen made five saves in the losing effort.
